Minimalist-ish ~ Makeup
I wanted to start a new series on my blog called "minimalist-ish" because I've recently been trying to clear out my room and take a more minimalist approach to things. I am not a huge shopper but I am a collector of some things (books!, clothes) and definitely a keeper of sentimental items so I would definitely not be classified as a true minimalist hence the name: minimalist-ish.
One of may main focuses for decluttering and living minimal is with my beauty and makeup supply. My ideal bathroom is free of anything on the counters except for hand soap; only three items in the shower (shampoo, conditioner, soap); and everything else tucked away nicely (and only a few things!!). One day . . .
At the moment, of course, I have control over my makeup collection! I found this old art box I had and the thought sparked: I could turn this into a really organized, fancy makeup holder! So my sister and I went to work and this was the result:
I've had this art box forever! Now it's put to good use! |
Layer One: essentials. |
Layer Two: Eyes |
Layer Three: LIPS! |
Layer Four: Miscellaneous/Glitter/Stuff I should probably get rid of. |
View of everything |
It's been way more fun to do my makeup in the morning after organizing all of this! There is not too much - maybe I could be considered a minimalist with my makeup? I don't know! Everyone always says minimalism is a journey. Here is my step one.
* I am not yet fully fluent in what is/is not cruelty-free makeup, so if anyone notices anything bad, let me know!
**Also, I have two additional big eyeshadow pallets from Sephora not shown.
